hey again - original anon aka the post that started it all. i've asked my mother to ask her friend (who she doesnt know THAT well, which makes this whole call back questioning hilariously awkward, but hey, for science) for more details re: the sighting. news has come back: it was at 730AM, just as she was leaving for work that day. i dont know if i believe it, but i'm out of the country and cant administer the lineup test. o, great documenter of awkward, how do i determine the validity of this?

Anon: There are actually two sightings of David (with pap pix dated, source, Philiater) at LAX. He left for NYC (assumingly) on the 10th mothers day weekend being my guess as to why. And then arrived BACK at LAX on the 13th, Monday. Looked to be late afternoonish. So, He was there friday-monday. To be perfectly factual and accurate. SCIENTIFIC research okay?

Anon: GA arrived in NY on Sunday night. She was at a Con during the day in Canada. DD left NY on Monday morning - He left LA on Friday and he was back on Monday. There are pictures to prove it just search - So unless they saw each other briefly at 3am in the morning HA it didn’t happen. Your mommas friend got confused I bet she doesn’t even know how Scully looks like nowdays

Got a bunch of messages about this. Resolved: Sunday night to Monday (early) morning would have been the only time they were both in NYC, make of it what you will.

I was thinking...if I were to bear witness to DD & GA conversing or otherwise, incognito, I don't believe I'd rat them out. I mean it must be so strange for them to meet up, for coffee, as friends without the whole world gawking and geeking out! So, am I wrong to feel this way? It's like once the loch ness monster is officially spotted, then gone is the mystery, novelty & tee shirts

Sorry! I never commented because, when I listened to it, it just felt like a silly joke (I mean, I don’t know what else I would’ve thought) and, although it’s kinda cute, didn’t seem THAT necessary to hash out. I’ll get together a regular picture/quote deal pretty soon, and archive it as an incident of humor with sexual themes aka stuck on sex.

It WOULD be pretty interesting if, as someone suggested, David got prickly about it. But he’d probably understand it as an off the cuff joke in context.

Actually DD left LAX on Friday, May 10, 2013. Not Monday, May 13, 2013. You can verify that by going to Duchovny Centeral and on the front page, scroll to May 11, where the story showing he left LAX on May 10. Not saying that DD and GA hooked up, but DD didn't leave LAX on Monday, he left the previous Friday.

As much as it would be total awesomesauce if the elevator siting were true, it's kind of implausible. For one, there are pap pics of David leaving LAX on the 13th (Monday) in daylight and Gillian was doing upfronts that day. I mean, unless they had really quick coffee shop style table sex at like 4 or 5 am while not a single person was around. Stranger things have happened!

Ahh, thanks for the reminder. I thought those LAX pictures came from Tuesday, and forgot that Gillian was doing upfronts. Probably a mistaken identity thing, then.

I wasn’t really excited by the idea of them doing furtive sexy times. I was excited by the idea that David would take Gillian over to visit his place, almost like they were friends in real life??

I have decided to do a year’s worth of Comic-Cons in honor of the 20th Anniversary of the X-Files. And it’s the first time that I’m spending this type of one-on-one time with fans. And it’s been so wonderful to be able to also thank the fans for having been fans for such a long time, and to meet one-on-one some of the people who kept us on the air for so long. And one of the things that I’m finding the coolest ever is people who bring their kids - teenagers - who have been introduced to the show, now that they’re old enough to be introduced to my own favorite series. And they get to watch it again but with their 12 year olds, and re-experience it, so that we’re getting a whole new generational fanbase. And I just can’t tell you how excited that makes me.

And I can’t wait to share it with my boys- because it just occurred to me that there will be a time when they come to me and say “Hey Mom, people keep telling us about this show that you were on, called the X-something - can we watch that too?” That will be a day - however it is that it will be beamed into our future household - we’ll sit down on our levitating couch, and I will screen the pilot episode in front of Oscar and Felix.

I come with news of an alleged sighting. It is all very he said-she said, so feel free to discount it in your research. My mother just called me frantically after her friend (who recently moved into the same building as DD - an issue I will emotionally grapple with at another time) saw "Mulder and Scully in the elevator" on Monday. I don't know how to feel right now. I kind of want to adopt the "pictures or it didn't happen" policy, but I also am kind of hoping its true? Please advise.

I was surprised by her reaction. Those gag reels are so old, and parts of them have been shown on TV before… not that she pays attention to any of that, but still. I don’t know if she was freaked out because of the fake makeouts (does she still remember that that FtF fake makeout was put on the BluRay?) or just because it’s stuff she thinks of as more private, behind the camera footage and I guess she didn’t think it would be out there? I don’t know.

Agreed; I’m still trying to get a handle on Gillian’s forays into conventions and social media — I hope her team has a good filter. We haven’t gotten as much from David, but maybe that’s just because he’s been promoting the positive line and being sappy in public since at least 2003.

He mentioned gillian doing the pilot even before she started filming it. I find it cute that they are confiding with each other about projects
