Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny Reunite for IBG Summer Charity Event

There is no doubt that the pairing of Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny was the stuff of legends during the run of Fox’s hit television show, The X-Files.  Fans will not want to miss the chance to see the actors reunite in frank conversation as they join IBG’s summer charity event on July 30, 2011 in Los Angeles.

Foregoing an outside moderator, fans will be treated to the actors taking turns as they pose questions to one another about their entire careers, process and future plans.  Have any burning questions for the actors? Ask them! Audience members will be allowed to pose work-related questions to Duchovny and Anderson as part of the event.

And I’m here staring at my computer screen like:

IIt’s like people keep being surprised every time they mention 1 little thing about Gillian, David or Chris. I mean, the movie is obviously going to be made…so why are people still flipping out like it’s new news?

Every time I see “OMFG XF3” on anything I’m actually starting to link that to giving a loud sigh.

I love X Files. I do. It is and will always be my favorite show of all time, but it’s like I’m just here chillin’ cause I pretty much know there is a 90% chance the movie will be made…it’s just a matter of it being announced. I already called dibs that it was going to be on summer ‘11 [this summer]or ‘12 or Christmas ‘11 or ‘12. It’s feels like I’m not even hyped anymore, cause people keep freaking out about what I pretty much think is a given fact. I’ll be happy when they announce the next movie but I’ll probably only be freaking out when I am sitting on the theater. What I WON’T be doing is flipping out every time David and Gillian are breathing the same air in the room and AUTOMATICALLY linking every word and little thing they do to “IT’S BECAUSE OF XF3” … because you know…it could also be that they are getting together because the fandom is still alive and wants to see them too you know…or because they are friends and like to keep in touch…

So just chill, yo’s.

I think people are just happy to see them all together finally. Let them be happy. it’s not that big of a deal honestly. And as for being so certain that there will be an XF3 that’s great. I wouldn’t count on it though considering the second one flopped and FOX might not want to take another chance on it. I honestly don’t know and I’m not gonna lie I got excited when I found out CC was going to the event. And that’s just because I don’t have high hopes for a third one and by seeing CC coming it just gives us hope that they’ll announce.

I admit I got really excited when I heard CC was coming… My first thought was defiantly XF3. But I also think there will not be a third movie because its not a money maker. But CC going to the event gives me a little hope.

I feel bad being the one to throw cold water on it, but I wouldn’t be very surprised if now is about the time that Chris & the rest start to hint that XF3 is not going to come. It’s June (then, July) 2011 already. (And we know we don’t want another movie with a 9-month production schedule, YIKES.)

I might be biased because I kind of dread a third movie (not that I wouldn’t go see it - I would go see it, I would follow every inch of it, just like XF2, because it is my destiny), but… I dunno, we heard the same vaguely hopeful stuff during the five years we waited for the second movie, and as it turns out, it nearly didn’t happen. Now I think they’d actually have a harder time convincing FOX it would be worth it.

But — movie or not, I don’t think this meet-up WHICH I TRUST WILL BE AWESOME has anything to do with confirming or not confirming another movie. It’s not like they chose to get together — they were invited by the organizers, IBG, and probably worked it out so it fit best with both their schedules. Hahah, it’s like when there were pictures of Chris and David going to a baseball game together, and Tumblr was like WHAT COULD THIS MEAN?
