“I have a feeling David and I will be much closer after the series is done and we don’t have to be with each other daily. We can come back together for a second feature four or so years from now.
“As much as I will feel a huge weight off my shoulders when the series is done, it’s gonna be bittersweet. I’m sure all those wonderful moments that David and I have shared together will come to mind and I’ll be reminiscing about it for years.”
Gillian Anderson, “Movieline,” 1997

Haha, four years from 1997.

“A lot of things shifted over the last couple of years,” agrees Gillian Anderson, his X-Files costar. “He’s become gentler.”
The actress hints that their own complicated relationship - one the media have tended to promote as tortured - has eased up: “Not many people are willing to see the middle ground,” says Anderson. “They either want to think we’re madly in love or hating each other. But it’s neither of those things. It’s magical and difficult, and wondrous and painful, and frustrating and joyous, as any intense, intimate relationship is.” Entertainment Weekly, April 2000

“Running through that cornfield was my least favorite experience of the whole shoot. It was full of dust, and I was getting pelted by the leaves, which were very sharp on the edges. My eyes were actually sliced a couple of times. Then pollen would get into them, which was very uncomfortable. “What made it worse was that David was running ahead of me, parting the corn, and by the time I caught up to him, the stalks he had just parted would spring back, whacking me in the face.”
GA, “The Making of The X-Files: Fight the Future,” 1998
